Walnut Trail - Experience Outdoor Living

Hey, a new website has appeared and it is very similar to our ;-).

It focuses on higher end, quality products to beautify your outdoor living spaces. It is not complete yet, lots more product to appear on it, but it is ready for orders.

Walnut Trail

In other news, this blogger is upset that Tiger Woods has lost a PGA tournament. Down in Miami at Doral, the Blue Monster, he could not make it win number 8 in a row. I am a big fan of Tiger but I know people who are sick and tired of watching him win tournament after tournament. I feel he is the absolute best golfer of all time and complaining about him winning is just plain silly. Its like complaining about Wayne Gretzky winning the scoring championship again, or Babe Ruth winning the home run title. So lighten up folks, you are watching history, there will never be a better golfer in your lifetime and try and enjoy it while it lasts. You will be able to tell your grandkids that you watched Tiger on his incredible streak in 2008.

Chapin Slide Sprayer

New Product! (s)

We have added a new supplier to round out our backpack and hand sprayer line, Chapin Manufacturing. They are a long established company, located not very far from us in Batavia New York.

We have added a few products in time for the spring rush. The Slide Sprayer, model 6002, which is similar the the Trombone Sprayer that we have been selling for a decade. The Slide Sprayer is a little heavier construction and is very useful for the home owner who needs to spray high up in trees. This sprayer is also useful to spray cleaning solutions on the sides of buildings.

Snow, Steam and Organic Weed Control

Well, for once the weatherman was absolutely correct. We had a little freezing rain last night, followed by 6 inches of fresh snow. So getting to work today required a little more effort than normal. To see our weather in real time radar, use this link: Buffalo Radar

"you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows" - Bob Dylan

A week or two ago we added a brand new product to our main website. Behold!! It is the Green Steam Weed Killer! What this machine does, is heat up water into steam, then you blast the weeds with the steam and kill those unsightly weeds. Using heat for weed control has been around for a long time, steam is a relatively new tactic. This machine costs around $5000.00, so this is not a tool that the average homeowner can put into their arsenal. But this is something that a municipality can use, or professional landscapers who have clients who require organic solutions for weed control. Keep in mind that the Green Steam Weed Killer is non-selective, meaning that any plant material that comes into contact with the steam is likely to die. So this device is perfect for sidewalks, walkways, fence lines and that kind of situation. Places that you would normally use Round Up.

We are also activlely working on a whole new selection of Organic Weed Control and Pest Control products. Not too much is ready for internet traffic, but you will be able to find the products in this area of our website when it is done.

That is all for now, check back later.

Root Feeding, Walnut Trail & Jeff Healey

Two issues that I would like to discuss today, one a new lower price for a long standing product and the announcement that a new site is up and running and ready to take orders.

The Webster Deep Root Feeder has been a Rittenhouse product for as long as I have been working here. It is a gas powered root feeder that places granular product in the root zone of trees. This machine is really only for professional landscapers but occasionally we get property owners who prefer to feed their own trees as opposed to bringing in arborists or landscapers to take care of their trees. We are now offering a lower price for the Webster Deep Root Feeder. We have lowered the price by about a $100.00, just in time for spring!

Walnut Trail is a brand new eccomerce website. It is chock full of products for your home and garden with the emphasis on stlye. Take a look at the site here:

There will be new products added to the Walnut Trail website frequently, so bookmark it.

Meanwhile, we are saddened by the untimely death of Jeff Healey, a Canadian musical icon who tragically lost his life long battle with cancer yesterday in Toronto. If you have had the pleasure to seeing him play, you will understand what a loss this is for the Canadian music scene. Here is a video from the 1980's to remember Jeff Healey, Angel Eyes.
